Humans are Responsible for Global Warming: Causes and Effects

Global warming is a fact! It is a physical phenomenon that requires the ability to measure greenhouse gases. Global warming is mainly the result of CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere. It is necessary to have some CO2 as it traps heat to make the Earth livable. However, the problem is that CO2 is at a historic high (in a geological perspective) and increasing at an accelerating rate. The only measurable cause of this CO2 increase is human activity, which is known (particularly) because
low isotope carbon-14 is identifiable and from fossil fuels.
NO2, CO2, and Methane (which is 10 times stronger than CO2) have all risen. Many scientists warn that we only have years (and not decades) to stabilize CO2. According to
CO2Now.org (which makes it easy to see the most current CO2 level) the current parts per million (ppm)--which is how CO2 is measured-- is 393.65. 21,000 years ago, the CO2 ppm were 190, and in 1990, 290 ppm.
Some people think the term "climate change" is more appropriate because not all areas around the world are becoming warmer; some are becoming cooler. However, the net change in temperature has risen (about .8 degrees Celsius). The average temperature in Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia has risen to twice the global average, glaciers are disappearing, and record highs in temperature are being recorded at an astonishing rate during all seasonal periods around the world.
